Barbro Ask-Upmark

Barbro Ask-Upmark relocated from Sweden to California in 1999. She has been showing and giving lessons in Europe for more than 30 years. Barbro has received USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and is now giving lessons and competing up to the FEI-level in the U.S. Barbro emphasizes her training to help horse and rider to better understand each other. She is now accepting new clients and horses for full or partial training at Spirit Equestrian.

 Highlights of qualifications:

• 40 years of riding experience
• 15 years as a mounted police officer training both horses and riders
• 35 years of competition experience at different levels in dressage, jumping, eventing and western
• 28 years of giving instructions to students and horses of different levels in Sweden, England, Germany and the United States
• Trained with high profile instructors in Europe including Kyra Kyrklund, Louise Nathhorst and David Hunt
• Arranged and hosted clinics in Sweden and USA
• Trained and showed five horses from youngsters to Grand Prix
• Trained numerous unbroken horses from scratch to FEI level.
• Gold- Silver- and Bronze medals in the Swedish Championships for team Dressage
• Competed at CDI’s in England, Australia and the US, representing Sweden, placing in all starts
• Grand Prix Open DASC Champion - 2011
• DASC Year End Award Grand Prix Open – 2011
• Numerous wins in Intermediare II and Grand Prix 2009-2010.
• Grand Prix Reserve Champion 2002, region 7, Burbank, CA
• USDF Gold-Silver-and Bronze medalist
• USDF All Breed Award Champion, Grand Prix 2002
• Importing and distributing The Racewood Riding Simulators in the US
• Giving instructions on the Dressage Simulator
• Assisting buyers with horse purchases in Sweden
